Ishak Ismail

Former Brigadier General SAF, Senior Advisor to Glamco Aviation Pte Ltd

Ishak Ismail is currently Principal Consultant for i-Grow Partners Pte Ltd and Arbinger Institute S.E.A and also Senior Advisor to Glamco Aviation Pte Ltd. His previous experiences from 2011 to 2022 were with BAE Systems Hägglunds as Regional Director (Asia), with CWT Limited as CEO Defence Services and with ST Electronics (e-Services) Pte Ltd as Senior Vice-President/General Manager.

In 2011, Ishak retired from the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) in the rank of Brigadier-General after serving more than 29 years. He held various senior appointments with the SAF, including Commander 6th Division / Combined Arms Training Centre (CATC) and as the Army’s head of training in the appointment of Assistant Chief of General Staff (Training). He contributed significantly in training transformation for the SAF and in developing SAF leaders.

Ishak has extensive experience in Leader Development and Coaching. He is a certified coach under International Coaching Federation (ICF) and is working towards being a Professional Certified Coach. In the last 4 years, Ishak has been actively coaching, clocking an average of 112 hours of coaching per year.

Ishak is appointed under a selected list of Executive Coaches for the SAF to facilitate team leadership and development since 2016. As a certified facilitator, Ishak is also the lead designer and facilitator for the SAF 1-Year Leadership and Organisational Development Programme since 2019.

Ishak currently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors for the National University Health System (NUHS) from Apr 2020. He also leads various national councils: Chairman of Families for Life Council from Feb 2020 and Chairman of the National Maritime Safety at Sea Council from Jun 2020.

Ishak also volunteers as a Member of Advisory Council on Community Relations in Defence (ACCORD) since 2012 and within ACCORD his focal area is in strengthening and recognising family support for NS.
